From November 10 to 13, 2026, CTX Thermal Solutions will be showcasing their heat sink portfolio at their electronica booth B3.237 in Munich. Offering an expansive product portfolio of passive and active cooling solutions, the manufacturer helps to ensure that power electronics function smoothly and with minimal power loss. One of its target industries is the supply of electricity with renewable sources of energy. In the “All Electric Society”, this year's main topic at electronica, this field of application benefits from thermal management, which draws a large amount of energy from solar radiation and other sources.
Heat sinks keep inverter efficiency stable
Heat sinks made by CTX are found in countless inverters used in photovoltaic installations. In these systems, they quickly dissipate large amounts of heat generated by technical operation or high ambient temperatures. Heat sinks thus prevent inverters from adjusting their power downwards, which would reduce the efficiency of their voltage conversion.
Advantage extrusion: Good heat conduction, economical production
Heat sinks frequently used for this application are profile heat sinks, which CTX extrudes from aluminum. In this process, the metal, after being heated to around 500 °C, is pressed through a die that shapes the heat sink profile. The individual heat sinks are then cut off from the resulting strand, measuring several meters in length. The process offers advantages for the application and its economic implementation alike. The applied extrusion creates exceedingly uniform and precise fins, exerting a positive effect on heat conduction. As a shaping process, extrusion makes this possible at comparatively low costs, as any number of pieces can be produced with the one-time tool.
electronica 2026: CTX presents heat sink portfolio for power electronics
In addition to extrusion heat sinks, CTX also manufactures skived fin heat sinks and electronic housings for use in the thermal management of inverters. The portfolio is complemented by fans, heat pipes, and liquid heat sinks with pressed-in tubes. Visitors from the trade can stop by the booth to learn about the most suitable applications of the concepts for the “All Electric Society” as well as for all other applications of power electronics.
